Birth Photography
Birth….the day a mother is born and a tiny human comes earth side….so many emotions, details, and moments to document, treasure and celebrate.
Being invited into your birth space, to share these intimate moments with your family is an honor I treasure. As your birth photographer I am there to hold space and support you, as well as capture the emotions and moments as they unfold.
You will find my knowledge and familiarity with birth comforting. As an advocate for birth choices for over 22 years, a trained doula, midwife’s assistant and birth photographer for almost a decade, supporting birth has become second nature to me. I am both familiar and comfortable with birth as it unfolds. I tend to be a hands on birth photographer, offering encouragement and support as needed.
As your birth photographer, I am there to hold space for you and I believe in getting to know you before I enter into your intimate birth space. Every birth package includes:
Consultation at the studio, to get to know each other.
A second in person meeting between 34-36 weeks to catch up and discuss any concerns you may have. Discuss relaxation and support and prepare or go over a birth plan, if you desire.
From the time you hire me I am available to answer questions and offer support when needed.
Me on call (24/7) from 2 weeks before your estimated due date until you deliver. Which means that I am in town and ready to go at a moments notice. As a rule I try not and schedule any travel within three weeks of a due date, just to give a little extra cushion, since babies come when they are ready.
Back-up photographer available in the event an emergency prevented me from coming. Thankfully to date I’ve not had to call her in.
Birth coverage and emotional and hands on support from active labor (around 7 cm) up until 2 hours after birth. I believe that labor is a big part of the story of birth and needs to be documented. When possible I will drop in and take some photos during early labor to document those moments.
I currently book no more than 2 birth clients a month, to make sure that you get the best service, support and photos.
