Hello!

If you’re expecting, let me say congratulations! Whether this is your first time on the motherhood journey or your sixth, every pregnancy is unique, intimate and personal. Your pregnancy, birth experience, newborn season and first year milestones all deserve to be supported, honored and captured.. Choosing who walks this journey with you and is invited to participate and hold space in your motherhood journey and birth are some of the most important decisions you will make, whether it’s choosing your care provider, labor support, or a photographer to document and preserve these moments eternally for your family.. I appreciate you taking the time to consider me as a comrade in the journey of motherhood, one who can beautifully document your moments throughout pregnancy, birth, newborn and beyond, one to hold space and offer support and encouragement during pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period.

I am Christi, the owner, photographer & doula here at Nine Sparrow Lane Photography and Wonderfully Made Motherhood..  Thank you for visiting my page and taking the time to get to know a bit about my work and the services and experience I offer.   As a photographer you will find I am a skilled artist, documenting the beautiful and messy moments of life and motherhood and preserving them for you as works of art. As a doula you will find I am compassionate, supportive and knowledgeable in regards to pregnancy, birth and motherhood.

A little about myself:

  • My name is Christi.

  • I love Jesus, people and especially mothers! I am always honored to get be a part of their pregnancy and birth journey and to document the moments for them throughout motherhood.

  • I am a mother of 9, yes you read that correctly, 9 blessings! We’ve only had the privilege to parent 8 of them, as our 4th child was only with us for a few short hours before God decided he wanted him back.

  • I am an expert at managing chaos and occasionally share moments of our crazy, but beautiful chaos on IG and the blog.

  • I'm both a realist and a romanticist, which means I love to find the beauty in the everyday, crazy of life and document it, but I also love to design curated sessions to create fine art for my clients.

  • I've always loved classic and timeless styles and that is reflected in the beautiful clean style of photography and art I offer..

  • I value time with my family and with clients, and therefore only take on a very limited number of sessions each month, so that I can give both my very best.

  • I value printed work over digital files, because we both invest too much time and money to have our beautiful images, confined to only digital mediums. I also know how busy life is and how easy it is to neglect getting those photos printed. In order to save you time and remove the hassle, I take care of designing and ordering all artwork, you get to enjoy the fruits of my labor!

  • I love collaborating with local businesses and ministries here in the community. I currently volunteer with Cricket Alley Ministries as their event photographer.

  • The first birth I attended was 23 years ago.

  • I’ve been photographing births for 8 years and am a member of the International Association of Professional Birth Photographers

  • I am a DONA Trained Doula, with additional training in Rebozo and Spinning Babies.

  • I’ve had the honor of attending home births, hospital births, VBACs, breech birth, and cesarean births over the last decade.

  • I work as a midwife’s assistant and love every minute of it!

  • I believe in the physiological process of birth and our body’s ability to birth. We were wonderfully made!

  • I believe that holistic care supports our mind, body and spirit best through pregnancy, birth and motherhood. Nutrition, exercise and self care are all areas I am passionate about.

  • I believe that a woman should be supported in her decisions and choices for her birth.

  • I love tea but can make a yummy cappuccino! I also love to indulge in a piece of dark chocolate with my tea.

  • My favorite place on earth is the beach. The open prairie is a runner up.

  • Favorite Movie: Any of the BBC Series of Jane Austen's books.

  • Furthest I've traveled: Uganda

  • States I've lived in: Georgia, Iowa & Kansas
